Lauren is passionate about helping people live peacefully in their bodies. She integrates mindfulness with feminist relational theory to offer a compassionate, whole-person approach to psychotherapy.

Lauren is the creator of InBodied Yoga®, a body positive approach to movement that supports the practice of living peacefully in the body. She is uniquely qualified to provide adjunctive yoga therapy to individuals in eating disorder recovery.

Lauren received her BA from Yale University and worked in the financial services industry for several years before switching gears to attend yoga school. She received her Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University shortly thereafter, and has since dedicated her work to helping others live more peaceful, embodied lives. Lauren has worked in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings, including Bellevue Hospital Center, Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, and Brooklyn Women's Counseling Services.

Most recently, she was the IOP & Outpatient Program Coordinator at BALANCE eating disorder treatment center, where she led DBT, mindfulness, and embodied therapy groups for clients at the day treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Lauren is a graduate of the Women's Therapy Centre Institute's Postgraduate Training Program, entitled Minding The Body: Disruptions & Possibilities; Eating, Sex, Surgery, Subversion, & Creativity. She works from the WTCI's anti-diet, mindfulness-based, "self-attuned" model of treating eating problems.

She completed her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center and is a certified Rasa Restorative Yoga Teacher. She is the creator of InBodied Yoga®, a body-positive approach to movement that supports all bodies in the practice of yoga, self-awareness, body acceptance, stress management, and self-care. She has led body-positive, outdoor yoga classes in NYC and is co-developing an integrative mindfulness, nutrition, and self-care workshop with Anastasia Nevin, MS, RD of Anastasia Health LLC.

Currently, Lauren maintains a private psychotherapy & yoga therapy practice with specializations in eating and body image problems, Restorative Yoga, stress management, alignment therapy, and yoga for eating disorders. She has unique experience collaborating with eating disorder clinicians to provide safe, attuned movement therapy to individuals in recovery, including those who are or have been on exercise restriction. She has also treated individuals with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, mood and emotion regulation issues, and trauma-related symptoms.
